Daelyn Rice is broken beyond repair, and after a string of botched suicide attempts, she’s determined to get her death right. She starts visiting a website for “completers”— www. through-the-light.com.
While she’s on the site, Daelyn blogs about her life, uncovering a history of bullying that goes back to kindergarten. When she’s not on the Web, Daelyn’s at her private school, where she’s known as the freak who doesn’t talk.
Then, a boy named Santana begins to sit with her after school while she’s waiting to for her parents to pick her up. Even though she’s made it clear that she wants to be left alone, Santana won’t give up. And it’s too late for Daelyn to be letting people into her life…isn’t it?

Forgotten By Cat Patrick
each night when 16 year-old London Lane goes to sleep, her whole world disappears. In the morning, all that's left is a note telling her about a day she can't remember. The whole scenario doesn't exactly make high school or dating that hot guy whose name she can't seem to recall any easier. But when London starts experiencing disturbing visions she can't make sense of, she realizes it's time to learn a little more about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.

Part psychological drama, part romance, and part mystery, this thought-provoking novel will inspire readers to consider the what-if's in their own lives and recognize the power they have to control their destinies

book review: It's Not Summer Without you by Jenny Han

Synopsis from Goodreads
Can summer be truly summer without Cousins Beach? It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come.
But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started--at Cousins Beach.

Book title: It's Not Summer Without you (Summer#2)
Author: Jenny Han
Genre: Realistic Fiction,Chick Lit, Romance
My Rating:

Book Review

I am not a very huge fan of the first book,i only gave it a 3 star rating I like the book and everything but i just LIKED it nothing more nothing less. the second book of the series i would have to say  that it leveled up on the previous one, the second book is so much better than the first one.

Why did I say so?

the second book of the series is about Belly, not having to spend her summer with the Fishers cause Sussanah  just died and the fishers are in grieving for her loss. Another issue in the book is Belly and Conrad's Relationship, they just recently broke up and belly is contemplating with herself  if what she and Con shred is real or not, Jeremiah on the other hand finds himself falling for Belly and he hates his brother treating Belly like dirt. ( GOSH! is love complicated or what? ) ^^

the first couple of pages of the book is about again Reminiscing, but i guess the reminiscing part is different on the first one cause Belly is not Reminiscing about her childhood in the summer house but reminiscing some of her shared moments with Conrad , and  I must say that i enjoyed reading this one cause the book is not only written in Belly's POV but also we get a bit peek of Jeremiah's POV, and i enjoyed reading Jere's Perspective more, cause it just showed that he is a very nice brother,(seriously! he is such a dear!) Charater progression is also present in the book cause Belly is not the same girl we used to know her in the first book.

as for the Love triangle. I am sooooooo confused on which side I'm on, this book made LOVE VERY COMPLICATED. GOSH!

this is me while reading:

1st half: " Conrad! you jerk! Team Jere FTW!"
2nd half: " aww! conrad! what's with the poker face? *sniffs* team Conrad
near ending: " WTH! (tearing my hair out!) how could you!!! wah! OMG" ( team jere)
Ending: *exhausted* *confuse*  TEAM ?????

see? haha! oh well i am gathering all my strength to read the next book cause i feel like i am going to be emotional when the book ends. kyaa! better prepare a huge box of tissue. ^^ *ahem* please Belly choose wisely.. LOL

"The Future is unclear, but it's still mine"

Book Review: Hourglass by Myra McEntire

Synopsis from Goodreads
One hour to rewrite the past . . .
For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn’t there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents’ death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She’s tried everything, but the visions keep coming back.
So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson’s willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.
Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he’s around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?

Book Title: Hourglass (Hourglass#1)
Author: Myra McEntire
Genre: YA,Science Fiction,Paranormal Romance
My Rating:

Book Review

I'm not a time travelling fan, i just dislike the whole concept of time traveling and my objection with the idea actually made me dislike the book Timeless by Alexandra Monir, while I was reading hourglass i actually thought that i would hate the book, cause of the concept but hell! i absolutely love this book! WOW!

the book is actually about Emerson who is seeing different people from the past which she thought at first were ghosts and her brother thomas Hired a doctor from the hourglass,Michael. which later on she discovered that Michael possess the same ability as well but instead of seeing people from the past his ability is seeing people from the future.

Cool plot right? wait till you read on! what i appreciate about this book is that the info about time traveling is very concrete, it's very realistic and  i can say that the concept of the book is well thought! and Ms. Myra McEntire has a really wild imagination, she even applied Physics in to the book as well, and the reading this is  like watching X-men different characters with different superpowers and the superpowers in here is not just the average kind, think of empathy, fire starter, ability to locate things. every single person in this book somehow posses powers that is unutterably unnatural.

at first i am expecting that this book will be like Ultraviolet cause it also kinda deals with mental illness like having hallucinations and having a hot doctor to help the main heroine, so i was thinking that "NOOOO! i don't want aliens! NOOOO!" but as I read  on  my complains and disapproval of the book just quickly disappear cause of the great characters that is introduced here, i actually like reading Emerson's thoughts which by the way i thought first was a boy, Emerson is like reading this very tough girl the one that won't back down in a fight the kind that is very curious and inquisitive that will do anything just to know the unsolved mysteries even if it will cost her life,i really enjoyed reading her thoughts  this book being written in a 1st person POV made it a smooth reading experience for me and i actually don't want the book to end.

5 stars for the book! i wanna read the next one soooooo BAD! even though the ending is not that really exciting , the unanswered questions are really enough to kill me! gah! i wanna know Kaleb *blushes* more. :">

Book Review: Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

Synopsis from goodreads

All teenagers have problems, but few of them can match those of Aislinn, who has the power to see faeries. Quite understandably, she wishes that she could share her friends' obliviousness and tries hard to avoid these invisible intruders. But one faery in particular refuses to leave her alone. Keenan the Summer King is convinced beyond all reasoning that Aislinn is the queen he has been seeking for nine centuries. What's a 21st-century girl to do when she's stalked by a suitor nobody else can see?

Book Title: Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely#1)
Author: Melissa Marr
Genre: YA, Fantasy,Paranormal Romance
My Rating:

Book Review

the book is about again the sidhe, the ability of a human to see through faerie glamour.
first thing i noticed about this book. I like the main character's name, Aislinn. the name is very unique, but my like for the main character just stops there, Aislinn is a kind of girl that is not capable of finishing her lines like for example, imagine this scenery with me.

(Aislinn knocks on Seth's door to confide about her date with Keenan)

*Knock,Knock* (Seth opens the door)

Seth: Ash, what's wrong?
Aislinn: I... He... I can't... Last night... I don't know! *sobs*

see? gosh! she is like that when depression strikes and it is jst so frustrating! OMG! why can't she finish her lines? haha! OMG! but i guess i get to like Aislinn in the end ( JUst a bit) cause maybe she gets to be a little tough.

Moving on to the concept of the book, so another story about the Sidhe Seer eh?i have seen different faces of the Feys like there is the joyful kind, the kind that wants to torture humans, the erotic kind, the trickster and so on. well in this book what kind of faeries did i see? ahmm. i guess the EMO kind, cause i have to say that the book is written in a dark lyrical way, what I mean is the book has no trace of humor in it, not a moment in the book a broke a grin, it's just that faeries are really serious in this book, and it's really nice that Melissa Marr made a whole new impression of Feys in here the kind that maybe has a capability of feeling a certain emotion. and i did enjoy reading Donia's POV. i like how she is tormented with her iciness and that she is trapped, i feel sorry for her.

another love triangle blossoming in this book AGAIN! so which side i'm on? well I'm team seth, i like his piercings and sincerity, come on! he waited 7 months for Ash i give him credit for that and also maybe the medical test that he undergo to is maybe a bit funny but hmmm i find it sincere that he will do anything that so he can prove that he is clean. right? *grins* Keenan on the other hand is the intimidating kind, so not my type.

the ending of the book is just so confusing and i don't know what to expect next, as for Donia i can say that she deserved to be a Queen after all what she's been through.

this is an overall nice read, the reason i gave it a 3 stars is because of Ash's incomplete lines, but i like the faeries here, something new to moi. so will read the next book of the series --- INK EXCHANGE.

Book Review: Forgive my fins by Terra Lynn Childs

Synopsis from goodreads
Lily Sanderson has a secret, and it’s not that she has a huge crush on gorgeous swimming god Brody Bennett, who makes her heart beat flipper-fast. Unrequited love is hard enough when you’re a normal teenage girl, but when you’re half human, half mermaid like Lily, there’s no such thing as a simple crush.
Lily’s mermaid identity is a secret that can’t get out, since she’s not just any mermaid – she’s a Thalassinian princess. When Lily found out three years ago that her mother was actually a human, she finally realized why she didn’t feel quite at home in Thalassinia, and she’s been living on land and going to Seaview high school ever since, hoping to find where she truly belongs. Sure, land has its problems – like her obnoxious, biker boy neighbor Quince Fletcher – but it has that one major perk – Brody. The problem is, mermaids aren’t really the casual dating type – when they “bond,” it’s for life.
When Lily’s attempt to win Brody’s love leads to a tsunami-sized case of mistaken identity, she is in for a tidal wave of relationship drama, and she finds out, quick as a tailfin flick, that happily-ever-after never sails quite as smoothly as you planned

Book Title: Forgive My Fins (Fins#1)
Author: Terra Lynn Childs
Genre: Fantasy, YA, Romance
My Rating:★★★☆☆

Book Review

I LOVE MERMAIDS! when i was a kid i adore mermaids! even though there are some myths that says that mermaids are bad, i didn't grasp the idea... so i was so glad that there is a YA book about mermaids.
this novel is actually my first YA book that is about mermaids, and for my first, this one didn't quite disappoint me.

a new concept of mermaids were introduced here, cause mermaids can be bonded just by Kissing someone, and that kiss will eventually turn the Boy/girl that they kissed into a mermaid/merman too and you get to live under the sea with all the fishes and with your fellow mermaids too. so the concept is really something new right? something fresh and unconventional and reading this one is like breathing through fresh air.

when i was reading this book, i feel like everything around me is very vivid and i feel like i'm surrounded by vibrant colors, what i'm trying to say is that reading through Lily's thoughts is like reading through a very chilidish and young girl who has a crush on a boy for about a year or so, but never get to confess her feelings for him most likely i get to feel like I'm this girl that is experiencing the same thing and having Juvenile thoughts as well.

another thing i really liked about this book is *gasp* QUINCE! HAAA! he reminds me of puck form the Iron Fey series, he is this very humorous boy, who does nothing but ruin Lily's life but i really like Quince. he is this person who has humor but he has a certain depth that is just so adorable he's the kind of guy that will make you feel warm and giddy and fuzzy and dazed *blushes*. (LILY IS ONE LUCKY GAL)

reading Forgive my fins is like reading a novel that knowing what is in front of you, BUT you still wanna read and experience the whole novel. and to me this is one fresh novel and I'll read the next book from the series mainly because of Quince. :">

Book Review: The Hairdresser in Herare by Tendai Huchu

Synopsis from Goodreads

Against her better judgement Vimbai soon falls under his infectious charm not knowing that Dumisani holds a shocking secret, one that will turn her views of the world upside-down. The Hairdresser of Harare catapults us into the world of Zimbabwe’s elite society, where stereotypes and prejudices are as abundant as the lavishness. It tactfully tackles the issue of homosexuality that most African literature shies away from

Book Title: The Hairdresser in Herare
Author: Tendai Huchu
Genre: Realistic Fiction, Adult
My Rating:★★★★☆

Book Review
this will have to be my very first book that is set in Africa, This book is actually set in Zimbabwe.

so what is my thoughts about this book?

actually at first i don't know what to expect in this book, since the book is titled "the Hairdresser in Herare" i was thinking this book would just evolve around the ups and downs of being a hairdresser. the challenges that a hairdresser has to face everyday.

this book is actually about a single mother who was accidentally got pregnant because of her affair to a married man, she works as a hairdresser and she actually own the spotlight in a salon where she is working until a new hairdresser came to town, Dumi. Dumi is this very quirky and very imaginative kind of hairdresser that makes each customer in the salon beautiful after their given haircut.

at first the book will lead you to an idea that this will lead to some kind of rivalry. but actually this story contains a certain depth in to it, as you read on you will be confuse on what Dumi really is, cause he is keeps giving this very cryptic message on what he truly is. and it never crossed in my mind that Vimbai and Dumi will form a camaraderie.

what i really appreciate about this book is the writing, it's very concrete and realistic, the author didn't beat around the bush, the writing is very straight to the point. and the dialogues are really nice very quirky and funny. while I'm reading this some parts make me grin. :)

overall this is a nice read, I'm glad that i get to read this book, it's very light and it gives me a whole new perception in the world where i live in, this is very refreshing. i actually recommend this to everyone. :D

Book Review: Delerium by Lauren Oliver

Book Summary Via Goodreads

Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.
But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.
Book Title: Delirium (Delirium #1)
Author: Lauren Oliver
Genre: Romance.Science Fiction, Young Adult Fiction
My Rating: ★★★☆☆

BOOK REVIEW

"Love is the most powerful force in the world. That love can do anything." - Jonathan Christopher Lightwood

Imagine a world where love cannot exist or better yet it is considered a sickness... it the thought is kinda absurd but in Lena's world such thing exist, at the age of 18, each ad every people in their society is subjected for the cure, a cure is more like taking away your feelings towards love, thus making your emotions dormant so you won't experience Deliria Nervosa or in my point of view, delria is more like the scientific term for being Madly in love along with the process of being cured is also finding your Match through series of test that you are required to undergo.

this is my second novel from Lauren Oliver, i did enjoy reading before I fall. but this one i didn't enjoy as much. haa! when i first started reading this and reading the concept of the book, I was like "OMG! they found a cure for LOVE! OH MY GOD!" i don't know but the thought of finding the cure for love is like completely ridiculous to me, i just think that love is really, really IMPOSSIBLE to defy! i would have accept it if they found a cure for cancer but NO! they found a cure for love. ay-yay-yay! i know love can make you go crazy and everything but gosh! i mean come on! people can't die out of love! it's more of their choice if they don't wanna move on. (my,my i'm I incredulous of the thought or what?)

another thing  that I'm ranting about this book is that it's not really a dystopian novel, not a single thing is futuristic here, just maybe for finding the cure but the setting is nothing dystopian, everything is so chick lit-ish and paranormal romance-ish and Lena and Alex just fall in love with like a snap of fingers like one blink and then BAM! they're in love.

on the bright side i did like  Lena's character progression in the book, at first we get to  see her as this very nice, goody good girl who doesn't know how to take risks but as you read on you will be really impressed on how Lena goes to the wild side, and i just think that such character progression is really impressive cause we get to see the character gets to change within the book, cause some characters takes several book installments before you see some change in them, another thing is the ending. the ending made my heart rate just sky rockted to 10 times , WOW! the ending is just so darn dramtic.

here's my thoughts while reading the book

1st half: meh. 2 stars.
2nd Half: still 2 stars (so certain and sure)
Ending: Dang!!!! gosh! Oh MY GOSH! OK another star! gee! gosh! OH MY!

haha! still i never thought the book will end like that, i was taken off guard so i add an additional star for my supposedly rating. hihi *evil grin* I'll read the next one for sure.

Book Review: Outside In by Maria V. Snyder

Book Summary Via Goodreads
Me? A Leader? Okay, I did prove that there's more to Inside than we knew. That a whole world exists beyond this cube we live in. And finding that led to a major rebellion - between worker scrubs like me and the snobby uppers who rule our world. Make that ruled. Because of me, we're free. I thought that meant I was off the hook, and could go off on my own again - while still touching base with Riley, of course. He's the one upper I think I can trust. But then we learned that there's outside and then there is Outside. And something from Outside wants In

Author: Maria V. Snyder
Genre: YA Fiction,Science Fiction,Dystopian,Romance,Action/Adventure
My Rating: ★★★★★

Book Review

OH MY! just finished this very awesome book! haaah! forgive me, my review will be like all over the place, haha!

so any-who! i was so excited to read this book, cause i just love, love, love Inside out cause of the booming action scenes and a very realistic futuristic theme of it. thank God Inside out is two times the action and romance and drama! *screams*

in the first book we get to see Trella as this girl who has a very tough exterior like she is not so vulnerable at all, but in this istallment we get to see a "scared" Trella she is actually afraid of responsibility like giving up her place in the comittee cause she thinks that she is not capable enough of leading the Force of Sheep. she never sees herself as a leader of rebellion and she is also scared of commitment, like having a commitment with Riley. *sighs* and i think it's very nice that the author made the readers see Trella's vulnerability and it's nice to know that she is not the kind of person who doesn't sympathize with the people around her.

another thing that i like about this book is that there is a balance of everything like there's a little bit of this and that, it didn't only stick to action but there is also Romance,Humor and a bit of Drama (GOSH! I HYPERVENTILATE ON TRELLA AND RILEY'S  SHOWER SCENE) and also there is a lot of twist in the story, the plot leads to the idea that Logan is the Enemy and the outside is actually a place where everyone can be happy and equal again BUT NO!!! the author fooled us. haha!

i like the ending of the story, i actually thought that there is another book for this series, but i guess this would have to be the end, i like how everything is in proper order and equality is restored in the people of inside.

*sighs* this is one hell of a nice book! if you like Inside Out then you will certainly like this one too. :)

Book Review

the book cover actually gave me an idea that this book will be like Avatar: the last airbender  kind of book, and rich Chinese culture will be introduced here. but it never crossed my mind that the book will be about faeries and LGBT.

I didn't actually read the first part of the book where the author gave the readers a guide to how to pronounce the names of the characters(har har! very lazy me), so i was confuse at first. but as i read on i actually get to catch up on the characters and the plot of the book. the book is written very well i like how the author made me feel like i'm moving in ancient china with all the dialogues of the characters and i feel like i am also part of their adventure of meeting the fairy queen.

what i really really loved and appreciate in this book is how the author showed different kinds of love, like how a mother can love her daughter even though how much pain her child had caused her, at the end a mother will always and will be loving and forgiving her daughter . and of course another kind of love shown here is the "lesbian" love, at first i actually thought that my e-book is mess up, that maybe it's a typo error, cause while reading it my eyes caught the sentence "she loves her" i was thinking that maybe what the sentence really meant is that "he loves her"  so i was actually in denial that this book is about LGBT and i was actually thinking that the kind of love that Kaede and Taisin shared is like the love we feel for our friends. well it turns out that I'm wrong, and part of me is wounded cause even though the feeling of their love is mutual they can never be together cause they have different paths. and i don't know! when love is MUTUAL there is Never WRONG OR RIGHT for me.

Huntress is not the kind of novel that sticks in to fantasy only but there is a moral lesson that you'll get after you read it. :D

Book Review: Ultraviolet by R.J Anderson (copy from Netgalley)

Book summary via Goodreads

But the case is a mystery: no body has been found, and Alison's condition is proving difficult to diagnose. Alison herself can't explain what happened: one minute she was fighting with Tori -- the next she disintegrated. Into nothing. But that's impossible. Right?

Book Title: Ultraviolet
Author: R.J Anderson
Genre: YA Fiction,Paranormal,Science Fiction,Contemporary
My Rating:★★★☆☆

Book Review (with spoilers)

Once upon a time there was a girl who was special. Her hair flowed
like honey and her eyes were blue as music. She grew up bright and
beautiful, with deft fingers, a quick mind, and a charm that impressed
everyone she met. Her parents adored her, her teachers praised her,
and her schoolmates admired her many talents. Even the oddly shaped
birthmark on her upper arm seemed like a sign of some great destiny.
This is not her story.
Unless you count the part where I killed her.

*** insert the twilight zone theme song here***

when i  read the first chapter of ultraviolet i was shocked! the first chapter of the book was actually enough for me to gave it a high rating, in the back of my mind i was screaming 5 STARS! many thoughts are spinning in my mind on why did she kill the girl, i was thinking that maybe she has split personality or maybe she has an evil twin sister, so i was so curious and i don't know but demented kids and twisted murders really fascinates me.

this book is actually about Allison she is confined to Pine Hills Mental institution cause she is a suspect of killing her classmate Tori, but  she  has no memory of killing her, and she actually possess a different kind of ability wherein she can see different variety of colors that is not visible in the human eye and according to the book it's called Synesthesia. and she can actually sense if someone is lying to her.

while reading this book I was actually scared and confused at the same time, many new ideas about paranormal stuff are introduced here there are a lot of terminologies that i am not familiar with, but nevertheless the book is good i'm just not that in to aliens and too much science fiction are just occurring here. i enjoyed the twist like how the author gave us the idea that people here are crazy but it turns out that Tori wasn't actually dead and Allison didn't actually killed her  and Tori is actually is actually an Alien. the ending is nice also very bittersweet

i gave the book 3 stars cause i just like the book, i am not a big fan of aliens i like science fiction books if it's dystopian or utopian, i do recommend this to people who likes Sci-fi books that is about aliens and as far as i can say, this is better than star wars. haha!

Once upon a time there was a girl who was extraordinary. She could
hear colors, and see sounds, and taste the difference between truth
and lies. But hardly anybody knew that, and she preferred to keep it
that way.People thought she’d killed someone, but she hadn’t. They didn’t
believe her—some still don’t—but that doesn’t bother her much anymore.
Because she has her family and her music and her freedom, and
somewhere in the universe is a man with violet eyes who loves her.
And deep down, part of her still believes that one day she’ll see
him again.
This is my story.

Book Review

before i make my full review of the book, i would just like to say that the book cover is so darn awesome, the girl from the cover looks like Megan fox and she wears this look on her face that says " mess with me and i will kick your arse", the girl from the cover is what i imagined ms. Finley Jayne would look like... two thumbs up to the book cover. :D

now for the review:

i just recently finished the e-novella of this book (the strange case of finley Jayne) and i was really ecstatic for this book, good thing netgalley grant my request for a copy of this book, gee! a million thanks to netgalley!!! yay! yay!

this book is actually set from the 1800s where girls wore fine and sophisticated dresses and guys are chivalrous and ware tux and a baler hat instead of a shirt and jeans, don't let the setting of the book fool you, the book is not as timid or wholesome as girls and guys from the 1800s act this book is actually filled with action and mystery and it's like classic hits modern kind of thing, and i enjoyed reading this one, every single page is such a ride for me... many things are new to me like automatons and a human androids and i thought i won't be surprised of the flow of the story cause i just read the prequel of the book, but man i was wrong! the conspiracy, the lies, the mystery are just too shocking to take. there was never a boring moment on this book

the characters have a variety of style , each one of them has their own individualism and trait and i really like that they also posses supernatural powers like Finley who has superhuman strength and Griffin who can able to walk through the world of the dead and Emily! oh i really like Emily! she reminds me of Hermione from the Harry Potter series, and also Sam the half man, half machine... i like it that the main characters can somehow be the bad guy (like Sam). and the minor characters of the book is likable also. :)

i gave the book 4 stars cause even though i like the whole book and everything what it's lacking is the romance, sure Emily and Sam take their relationship to the next level, but i never get to see Finley and Griffin take their unrequited love to the next level. aww...

since i like this book, i think i'm gonna explore more books from the steampunk genre, i think i'll try to read the Clockwork Angel by Cassie Clare.

e-novella review: the strange case of finely jane by kady cross

Book Summary Via Goodreads
Finley Jayne knows she's not 'normal'. Normal girls don't lose time, or have something inside them that makes them capable of remarkably violent things. Her behavior has already cost her one job, so when she's offered the lofty position of companion to Phoebe, a debutante recently engaged to Lord Vincent, she accepts, despite having no experience. Lord Vincent is a man of science with his automatons and inventions, but Finley is suspicious of his motives where Phoebe is concerned. She will do anything to protect her new friend, but what she discovers is even more monstrous than anything she could have imagined…

Book Review
wow! this is one kick ass novella!!!

i have never read a book that is about the "steampunk" genre so i'm not sure what to expect when i was reading this one, but i really really liked this one!

the book is actually set in the 1800s, so more like this book is set in a Victorian Era. we get to meet Finely Jayne, a girl who can't stay on a decent job due to her lack of self control, she actually has a very incredible strength that is highly unusual for a girl.

i don't know but the book is written in a freaky, eerie way cause the novella itself is like retelling of Mary Shelly's Frankenstine, Lord Vincent is soooo freaky.. sheesh!
as i've said i'm new to this genre so i don't know what to expect, i guess a steampunk genre is like having modern stuff and victorian stuff combined together, cause in this novella even though it is set in the 1800s some stuff are a bit modern like mechanical horses and automatons, in a way this book reminds me of the anime full metal alchemist...

another thing i like about this book is Finely Jayne is one super bad-ass heroine... wow! would you chase after a mechanical horse to save someone?? can you kick the arse of two creepy hoodlums?? a normal girl will say HELL NO! but finely jayne can! haaaa! i wish i can be as tough as her. LOL

what's so strange about finely jayne?

i really can't put my finger on it, besides the fact that she has a super, extraordinary incredible human strength and she wears steel corset (lol KIDDING), what's really ticking on my mind is what is she??? is she some kind of robot?

i'm excited to read The girl in the Steel Corset to find out more about Finely Jayne... good thing netgalley grant my request for an ARC copy.. yay!

Book Review: The Summer I turned Pretty by Jenny Han

Summary Via Goodreads
Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Book Title: The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer#1)
Author: Jenny Han
Genre: realistic fiction, young adult, romance, contemporary, chick lit
My Rating:  ★★★☆☆

Book Review

*sighs* yay! ok guys i think i'm ready to make a book review now... (still grinning from the Iron Knight's book Cover)

I decided to take a break from reading YA fantasy novels and decided to go for realistic fiction/ chick lit novels since i really miss reading books of those genre, since this book seems to be creating a buzz on goodreads and it seems like it's a very quick/light read kind of book so i decided to try it.

first thought that popped in my mind when i read the book title erm... ugly duckling kind of girl who suddenly had a sizzling summer romance cause she magically transformed in to beautiful swan. was my prediction right? ahm... yes.. but she didn't just get one guy falling for her but 3 guys. wow! what a nice Summer that is. :)

first couple of pages of the book reminds me of If I stay by Gayle Forman. because of the reminiscing part , Belly kept on reminiscing her Summer she spent with the Fisher Brothers (Conrad and Jeremiah) on how she fell head over heels with Conrad how her heart broke when Conrad was not that really in to her.

this book is not actually just about romance and summer hook-ups but basically the added stuff here is the family ties and bonds and also about friends, and i don't know i'm just so confused on whose guy i'm rooting for Belly is Con,Cam or Jere.... i'm actually still up for the next 2 books, hoping it will be better than this one. :)

Waiting on wednesday (1)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, at breaking the spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

my pick this week is:

book summary via goodreads
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure-bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:
Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.
Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

book title: Half blood( Covenant #1)
Author: Jennifer Armentrout
Publish date: September 15,2011

my first participation on a weekly meme.. :D

i am so eager for this book, since i just read the prequel of the series (Daimon) and i just want to read this book! and I am really a sucker for anything mythology related.. wee
can't wait to read this one. and the cover is just to die for, :D

Book Review: Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder

Book Summary Via Goodreads

Keep Your Head Down.
Don't Get Noticed.
Or Else.

I'm Trella. I'm a scrub. A nobody. One of thousands who work the lower levels, keeping Inside clean for the Uppers. I've got one friend, do my job and try to avoid the Pop Cops. So what if I occasionally use the pipes to sneak around the Upper levels? The only neck at risk is my own…until I accidentally start a rebellion and become the go-to girl to lead a revolution.

Book Title: Inside Out (Insider#1)
Author: Maria V.Snyder
Genre: YA Fiction,Dystopia,Fantasy,Action/Adventure
My Rating:★★★★☆

Book Review

gee! where was I when this book was out? seriously? i've been actually seeing a lot of this book, but i thought this is part of the strange angels book series, cause the book cover of Defiance is pretty much similar to Inside Out's book cover,  since me and YA angels don't get along I ignored this one, hell! i really got to keep on reading book synopsis or make thorough research before I ignored a certain book... oh my! i really regret ignoring this book. sheesh! it's actually been a while since i've read a dystopian novel and i've been actually looking for dystopian books that is as good as Unwind and The Hunger Games trilogy and guys! i think i finally found another dystopian novel that i'll go crazy for!

first page of the book: a booming action scene.. wow! actually the first part of the book took me off guard, i know action will be present in this book but not that early. goodness! that shocked me in a completely good way. and me being an "adrenaline rush seeker" in each book that i read. i was really ecstatic when the first part of the book is an action scene.

another thing is the book really lived up with the dystopian genre. Everything here is so futuristic from the tools, gadgets, names of people and also the terms in here like the "uppers" and the "lowers" . the uppers will somehow be called today as the rich people with all the perks and privileges while the lowers on the other hands are maybe the less fortunate ones, they are basically stuck on cleaning.

the characters are good too, Trella a.k.a Queen of the pipes,  is one kick ass heroine. she is actually being referred as a girl who has no emotion or maybe the kind of girl that is not into sympathizing with her fellow "scrubs", but i like Trella. i like her fierceness and eager determination.

so this will not be actually a one good book if i'm not crushing on some fictional characters... yay! i love Riley.. hihi. my oh my!!! haha. i like him when he talks to sheepy. wow he is so darn cute. haha! *ahem*  i now declare that sheep is my favorite animal . meeehhhhh!!!!!  LOL

so this is an overall nice book, if you are looking for a dystopian novel this one won't definitely disappoint you! i recommend it to dystopian fans out there. :)
