book review: Lola and the boy next door by Stephenie Perkins

Synopsis via Goodreads
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door

BOOK REVIEW

Two out of five people end up marrying their first love.

this book is just simply amazing! Stephenie Perkins delivered another one good romance novel. as all of you have known i am just so in love with her first book Anna and the French Kiss and i can't really help myself from gushing and blushing and grinning every time i remember Anna and Ettiene's story and as I've said i really wanted a continuation from their story, i really want a sequel from their love story, so yeah looks like i got my wish, (sort of)

Lola and the boy next door is not actually the sequel of the first book but in some scenes in the book St.Clair and Anna made an appearance in the book and we get to see how their relationship was after we witness their love story in the first book (well that's not so bad eh?)

let's proceed with the actual review... *sighs* i really don't know what to say from this book, it is just simply awesome :"> i can say that from start to finish this book will make you giddy and wishing you have the same love story as Lola and Cricket.

what I really appreciate about this book is that Stephenie Perkins never fails to deliver such unusual and lovable characters, we get to meet Dolores Nolan who has this way of wearing her clothes in an unusual way, her dress style is just too much. she has a boyfriend that is several years older than her, and she gets to be confused with how she feels with her boyfriend when her Childhood love moves in next door. At first i really think Lola is the kinda girl that is very selfish cause she wants to have to loves (Cricket and Max) and she can't really decide which she should choose but as the story goes on you really can't blame her cause even if i were on her situation i would really feel the same way, and for me she really did try her best to maybe be contented on what she has and just let go of her bitter past with Cricket.

another awesome character introduced here is Cricket! gosh! he is just everyone's dream boy. I find her a bit weird cause he likes inventing and stuff and he knows girly things like sewing and styling hair but i find him really fascinating (i really like weird guys BTW) hahaha! he actually reminds me of the boy in the movie Cloudy with a chance of meatballs with the hair and the way he invents things.

for me this book is like maybe retelling on how st.clair's handle his lovelife cause in the first book he had a girlfriend when he met Anna. maybe this book is like his POV in a way.

another thing i appreciate about this book is that it has it's own story... i guess this one is very original for me. call me hopeless romantic or anything but i find the whole book really nice although this story line of the book is nothing i have ever experienced. I feel like actually i am put in the shoes in the characters and maybe feel an emotional attachment to them also. and also the book doesn't focus only on the romantic stuff but also family bonds...

*sighs* ANOTHER AWESOME BOOK FROM STEPHENIE PERKINS... kyaaaa!!! hoping
she'll make another book of the same genre. :D

And i hold my head high toward my big entrance, hand in hand with the boy who gave me the moon and the stars
