Book Review: Angelfall by Susan Ee

It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again

BOOK REVIEW

OOOKKKAAAYYYY!!! there is really not enough words on how much I really like this book, so please bear with my review. I can't really get over with the whole story of the book... *HEAVY SIGH*

this book is about a post apocalyptic world wherein angels are the ones who are destroying our world we are introduced with the main heroine Penryn and her sister page and her very unstable mother.

Of course the book's title speaks for itself that the book would be about angels, but as I first read the first page I just thought the the book would be like Hunger Games cause really, I mean the resemblance is like there. The unstable mom, the tough big sister and the vulnerable little sister, so I was like thinking that maybe the books isn't really about angels, but as I read on a whole new concept of angels were introduced to me, OKAY, so I was Taken aback that angels could like possibly destroy our world, that is like seriously never ever crossed my mind, I know angels are not really the gentle creatures that we know, some YA novels have introduced me to that concept but WOW! THEY ARE LIKE DESTROYING OUR WORLD!! OMG! I was like really shocked. BUT! my hysteria regarding the plot wasn't really a hindrance for me to like this book.

One thing I like about this book is how well it is written, I really feel like I am living in to this destroying kind of world and everything is just so dark and uncertain, another thing is the dialogues of the character. I just feel like the personality that the author feeds us with the characters really matches the dialogue that they are suppose to possess. Like how Raffe really talks like this modern kind of angel and how Penryn gives comments that is well suited to her personality. Another thing is the mash up of the concepts of this book so we have angels , we have aliens, we have dystopia and we have a slight glimpse of the apocalypse ... WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR. Everything is present in this book. and it is a shocker on how well those elements go together. Even though its kinda different that those different kinds of elements are present in this book.

I like this book so much, It just kinda took long for me to read cause I was back to school last week, so things are kinda like pretty hectic. This book is really awesome, and I am encouraging every Young Adult Lit lover out there to read it, cause this book didn't get that much attention. DO READ IT! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
