Book Title: Tempest (Tempest#1)
Author: Julie Cross

Book Review

The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.

That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.

Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.

But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him.

Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

we are introduced with the Main character Jackson Meyer,he has the ability to jump through time. but he can't change what's in the past he can just Jump back and forth through time. the person he has interacted to in his "jumps" won't be able to remember or recognize him when has came back to his proper year... in other words Jackson has the ability to travel through time without ruining the time and space continuum.

This book is actually really complex for my taste, i feel like I am watching a spy movie when i have read this one. a lot of scientific terms were introduced in this book and i feel also like watching the Movie Back to the Future and Jumpr.

It actually takes a while, for this whole book to get stirring cause the first couple of pages has not much action going just Jackson springing Back and forth through time and all his efforts were gone to waste cause he can't go back to his main year, so there wasn't anything for me to look forward to when i was reading the first part of the book, the romance aspect of the book was not actually i was looking forward to also cause i feel like Jackson and Holly's romance is a bit forced, i feel like they are two teenagers just fooling around without having any commitment at all with each other.
I actually feel more touched with Jackson's love for his twin sister,Courtney.

I was surprised that the book gets better as I read on, but the complexity is actually still there cause the characters keep on blabbering about the "tempest", Full Jumps, Half Jumps and so on... But what i really like about the second part of the book is it's depth and drama, cause this book is not just about time travel but it also talks about grief and loss of a family member. it really broke my heart when Jackson went back through time, and stays with her sister in the hospital, he eventually watched his sister die, *SNIFFS* that was for me the main highlight of the book. (SCREW HOLLY X JACKSON)  and I am really intrigued to the little girl from the future, hmmmm.. My guess is she is Jackson's daughter

Overall: not that bad... this book is actually great, the ending is also good. another tear jerking part in the book.... i do recommend it for guys and gals that has a taste for Mission Impossible-like plot and also a fan of time travelling.
