Book Review: Babe in Boyland by Jody Gehrman

When high school junior Natalie - or Dr. Aphrodite, as she calls herself when writing the relationship column for her school paper - is accused of knowing nothing about guys and giving girls bad relationship advice, she decides to investigate what guys really think and want. But the guys in her class won't give her straight or serious answers. The only solution? Disguising herself as a guy and spending a week at Underwood Academy, the private all-boy boarding school in town. There she learns a lot about guys and girls in ways she never expected - especially when she falls for her dreamy roommate, Emilio. How can she show him she likes him without blowing her cover?

Book Review

Would you cross dress or change the way you look and live a week full of guys, just to know how guys think? to know their inner thoughts and get a private scoop of their daily lives?? If you will ask me, I am not actually that risky I am not that good with guys either so i might as well mess things up and blow my cover the second i step in their private domain.

But in this book we get to meet a very risky gal named Natalie, who would risk it all just to know how guys think and she gets to cross dress and pretend as a guy in a boy's school just to get to write a decent arcticle for her column, to whole thing sounds very familiar right? the book is exactly the same replica of the movie She's the man starring Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum.

at first i was a bit skeptical that the book won't be that exactly the same as the movie, but it turns out that it is, let me tell you the resemblance
1. cross dresser girl
2.girl get to fall in love with the roomate
3. bitchy gal who will blow her cover.

see?? while reading this I can't help but compare it to the movie she's the man , but i did enjoy reading this one, some parts were funny and some parts was just plain ole boring, this book has it's moments wherein i get to be excited to know what will happened but most of the time i get this feeling that i was in this state wherein i was really bored and i'll go like "OH MAN!! Nothing's new here!"

Babe in boyland is something you can read in just one sitting, cause everything is just so light and fluffy in the book, a very light read this book was, but i was just not that in to it, i do recommend it for girls, since it's a chcick lit book, and also a huge hard core fan of she's the man and Hanna Kimi... :D
