Book Review: Blood Red Road by Moira Young

Synopsis from Goodreads
Saba has spent her whole life in Silverlake, a dried-up wasteland ravaged by constant sandstorms. The Wrecker civilization has long been destroyed, leaving only landfills for Saba and her family to scavenge from. That's fine by her, as long as her beloved twin brother Lugh is around. But when a monster sandstorm arrives, along with four cloaked horsemen, Saba's world is shattered. Lugh is captured, and Saba embarks on an epic quest to get him back.

Suddenly thrown into the lawless, ugly reality of the world outside of desolate Silverlake, Saba is lost without Lugh to guide her. So perhaps the most surprising thing of all is what Saba learns about herself: she's a fierce fighter, an unbeatable survivor, and a cunning opponent. And she has the power to take down a corrupt society from the inside. Teamed up with a handsome daredevil named Jack and a gang of girl revolutionaries called the Free Hawks, Saba stages a showdown that will change the course of her own civilization.

Blood Red Road has a searing pace, a poetically minimal writing style, violent action, and an epic love story. Moira Young is one of the most promising and startling new voices in teen fiction.

BOOK REVIEW

OH MEN! this book is really awesome! another great post apocalyptic dystopia genre of book I have read.

this book actually remind me of The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness cause the writing style is pretty much the same. It was actually frustrating at first cause all of the characters in the book talks the same unlike in Patrick Ness's book some characters don't talk like Todd. their vocabulary is pretty much composed of this

git = get
hafta= have to
stummick=stomach
ezzackly=exactly
fer=for
caint=cant

oh gosh! how frustrated i was while reading it. haa! all of them talk like that. The plot of the book is the one pretty much left me hanging on while reading it. The first part of the book is Engaging, filled with lots of action scenes on just the opening of the book and the book has its consistency cause the action just keep on piling up until the end. I have really no idea what to expect in a desert setting, i was thinking that maybe I'll expect a lot of sun and scorpions and stuff like that but i have never ever expect that this book will contain WORMS AND CAGE FIGHTING! DUh! i have never ever expected those elements to be present in this book.

The characters are a lot in this book, a lot of variety and many personalities that you'll meet, but Saba is just really something i can describe her as a bit too much. sure i like tough heroine but Saba is just too much. i can describe her as a bit insensitive and really ungrateful, she blames her little sister Emmi for the loss of their mom and to me that's a bit wrong. but eventually she gets to change and knows the importance of Family and not just her twin brother,Lugh.

ahhh! Favorite scene in the book is the very hot Kissing scene between Saba and Jack!!! gosh!
one of the steamiest kissing scene ever. hahaha!

Blood red Road is an amazing read, it has action,drama and romance and also you get values when you finished reading it. so this book rightfully deserve a 5 star rating. :D
